Hello all my bright sparks;
The topic of choice for this session is diffusion.
What is Diffusion?
The net movement of molecules or atoms from a region of high concentration (or high chemical potential) to a region of low concentration (or low chemical potential). This is also referred to as the movement of a substance down a concentration gradient.
Diffusion gradient
The molecules are more densely packed on the left and so they tend to diffuse into the space on the right. This is a diffusion gradient.

The importance of Diffusion
It is important to organisms because it is the process by which useful molecules enter the body cells and waste products are removed. Digested food molecules (amino acids, glucose) move down a concentration gradient from the intestine to the blood.

I hope these pointers will allow better understanding on the focus topic.Lets have a lively discussion on these areas, I would most certainly like to hear from you all. Thank you for stopping by.
